On the 18th of August 2004 BT announced that it is removing the distance related limits for the most popular Cheap Broadband services, bringing potentially more than a million additional homes and businesses based in the UK within reach of Cheap Broadband.

This is great news for self employed people and small businesses in Cornwall , many of which have so far been unable to benefit from the Cheap Broadband revolution. Up until now, ADSL Cheap Broadband has only been available within a limited catchment area of a Cheap Broadband enabled exchange - up to around 5.5 km. However, on 6th September, this limitation will be removed - and you are likely to be able to get Cheap Broadband regardless of how far away you are from the exchange. Although you will need to have a line test and there may still be a few who are unable to get Cheap Broadband, these will be in the minority - and Cheap Broadband-Cornwall will be striving to bring the benefits of Cheap Broadband to these through alternative Cheap Broadband technologies.

What’s more, the range for 1MB/sec premium services will be increased from 4km to approximately 6km – making 1Mb/sec ADSL Cheap Broadband available to 96% of homes and businesses connected to a Cheap Broadband exchange.
